MANOR HOMES OF OLD SAINT ANTHONY January 2010 No Parking Thursday, January 14th: Todd from our plowing service will be here with his bob cat to try to clean up our parking areas and move some snow banks so there is room for recycling. Please have your cars out of the drives and parking areas by 1:00 PM and keep them out until the areas are cleaned. Saturday Night Attempted Armed Robbery: Although the incident described below didn't occur on association grounds, it happened nearby and one of our homeowners provides the following information as an alert for our owners and residents. “Last night a friend brought me home from the movies. He then went back to East Hennepin to take the bus back to his house. He was on 8th Street and East Hennepin when a man approached him with a gun and demanded his cash. My friend hit the assailant on his jaw. The guy fell down but got up very quickly and ran away to 2nd Avenue (or Street?). My friend described the man as tall, about 6 feet, very thin and African American. He couldn't provide details on any distinctive features because it was dark.” Squirrels: MHOOSA has a substantial population of squirrels. Some of our MHOOSA squirrels have developed destructive habits such as chewing on garbage can covers (they are trying to get into the garbage cans), chewing on the lead caps of plumbing stacks on the roofs (they are trying to get into the house), and killing limbs of trees by repeatedly gnawing. Squirrel relocation efforts are underway. If you have a favorite squirrel you would really like MHOOSA to keep, provide the Managers with a detailed description. Christmas Trees: Solid Waste and Recycling is picking up Christmas Trees. Place your tree next to your garbage cart on collection day.
